Germaine’s primary area of practice includes the administration of qualified employer-sponsored retirement plans. She maintains a current knowledge of ERISA laws, along with IRS and Department of Labor (DOL) regulations as they pertain to plan administration and compliance. She works alongside employers and consultants to formulate, implement, administer and maintain a qualified retirement plan.
The implementation of the plan includes an individually designed adoption agreement or a prototype document, employer resolutions, IRS mandated amendments, loan policy statement, summary plan description, fidelity bond application, trust ID number, IRS submissions, employee notices and enrollment forms, and coordination of enrollment meetings with the investment advisor. The administration of the plan includes determination of eligibility, computation of benefits, plan recordkeeping, IRS and DOL compliance, non-discrimination testing, trust accounting, reporting and disclosure, employee communications and required annual IRS notices.
Germaine is a member of ASPPA (The American Society of Pension Professionals and Actuaries) which is the premier national organization for retirement plan professionals.
