Joseph R. Schortz, C.P.A. a lecturer and published author, has been a licensed CPA for more than 30 years. He is licensed in both Florida and New Jersey. 

While currently a member of the International Taxation Committee of the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants (FICPA) and Leadership Charlotte 2006, he is a former member of the group of 100 of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and Insolvency and Reorganization Committee of the New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants (NJSCPA). 

In addition to experience in all aspects of tax and financial statement preparation, he has extensive experience in business consulting, cost segregation studies, litigation support services, estate, trust and form of business entity consulting. He has contributed his time, talent and experience to numerous international, regional and local charitable, religious and civic non-profit organizations. 

He is a former varsity collegiate sports letterman who is married longer than he has been licensed. He and Mrs. Schortz, parents of three children, reside, with one child at home, in Punta Gorda, Florida.
